After running Regional Knowledge Leaders training all over Australia-involving more than ten training sessions and participants from 38 regions and 26 other organisations including DAFF/DEWHA, State governments, Research and Development Corporations, Cooperative Research Centres and sub-regional NRM groups-there are now many friends of the Regional Knowledge Resource Kit.
The 'Friends of the RKRK' is the community set up for anyone involved with regional NRM that has an interest in information management or knowledge management. To find out how to join the group visit www.rkrk.net.au and follow the link.
This group provides:
* a discussion forum where members can share experiences and seek help;
* examples of completed Regional Knowledge Strategies; and
* access to the materials from the Regional Knowledge Leaders training.
The Program team is uplifted to hear that regions are using the resources provided through the RKRK and the Regional Knowledge Leaders training process. One such piece of news comes from Alana White, from Burnett Mary Regional Group (BMRG) in Queensland:
We are in the process of rolling out the Regional Knowledge Strategy process within BMRG and have been using the RKRK website quite heavily. BMRG are engaging with Program, Project and Monitoring and Evaluation coordinators as well as management to start the process. We, as a group, have also manipulated the Stage 1 workshop (from theRegional Knowledge Strategy process) to encompass wider learning about NHT2; for example, successes, opportunities, areas to improve on, and things that still need to be done.
Further testimonials can be found on the RKRK at www.rkrk.net.au.
