An Effective System of Defining Water Property Titles

Land & Water Australia is pleased to make available the Research Report An Effective System of Defining Water Property Titles authored by ACIL Tasman in association with Freehills.

Appropriate water-titling regimes promise to underpin the long-term productivity of irrigated agriculture and sustainable management of Australia's water resources.

A complete system of water-property titles encompasses both the definition of the entitlements themselves as well as a system of registration of those entitlements.

This report focuses on identifying the proper role of a water-titling and registration system and is an important contribution to a very important aspect of the Australian water reform agenda.
