2004 Science and Innovation Awards for Young People in Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry

Fifteen young Australians will receive up to $8000 each as winners of the 2004 Science and Innovation Awards for Young People in Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, announced by Senator Judith Troeth at a special ceremony held at Parliament House, Canberra 29 September 2004.

Senator Judith Troeth said the awards allow winners to undertake a project on an innovative or emerging scientific issue that will contribute to the ongoing success and sustainability of Australia's agriculture, fisheries, food or forestry industries

Land & Water Australia is pleased to announce that Dr Jeremy Hindell is the winner of the 2004 award sponsored by the Corporation.

With his award, Dr Hindell will be undertaking research that will assist in the understanding of the importance of large woody debris in the ecological functioning of river and estuarine systems.
