Managing Australia's Environment

The new book Managing Australia's Environment should assist the development and implementation of useful and adaptable public policy to meet the challenge of sustainability, according to Land & Water Australia Executive Director Andrew Campbell

Speaking at the Australian National University in Canberra to launch the publication, Mr Campbell said the book was a practical guide for policy makers, administrators and treasuries which reviewed environmental policy during the past 30 years to identify lessons and 'take-home messages'.

Managing Australia's Environment is the result of a research project funded by Land & Water Australia through its Social and Institutional Research Program. Written by leading Australian researchers and practitioners, the book is a comprehensive study of three decades of resource and environmental policy. Cutting across sectors, issues and disciplines, it assesses our performance and recommends new ways forward.

Managing Australia's Environment was edited by Drs Stephen Dovers and Su Wild River from the Centre for Resource and Environmental Studies at the Australian National University. It has been published by The Federation Press in conjunction with Land & Water Australia.
