2003 AFFA Science and Innovation Awards for Young People

Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry The Hon Warren Truss MP opened the 2003 AFFA Science and Innovation Awards for Young People on April 8 2003.

The Awards began in 2001 and since then 32 young people, including 2002 Land & Water Australia sponsored winners Dannielle Edwards and Jeff Meggs , have undertaken projects ranging from using sugar cane as cattle fodder to looking at the dispersal ability of different frogs.

In 2003, awards will be presented to young people from each State and Territory along with industry awards from Australia's nine Research and Development corporations.

Land & Water Australia is proud to be a major sponsor of these awards.

Applications for the awards close Friday 30 May 2003.
